SITE RULES

REGISTRATION

1. You may register with any username you wish. Once you have registered, please change your display name to First M. Last in proper capitalization.
2. We do not have a full application here at Azkaban Calling, just a simple form to get sorted. Fill this form out and you will be sorted as soon as possible.
3. If you would like your character to be a creature, you will need to submit an application. Creatures are rare and require more commitment and skill, so we don't give the status away willy nilly. There are also limits on how many of each creature and ability we will allow. You can find this in the Character Creation board.
4. At this time, we will only be accepted 4th through 7th year students. This is because, often times, the younger students don't get created and don't stay active.
5. The first three (3) characters are freebies. After that, you must purchase characters with the galleons you earn.
6. Escaped Convicts must be purchased from the galleon shop. These are important characters to the plot and therefore they are only allowed to be played by active members of the site.
7. Try to keep an even ratio. If your first two characters are one gender, your third must be another gender. Try to keep a variety.
8. As we are an AU site, no characters may be related to any of the canon character in the books or movies. You may not use the main names of the canons (Weasley, Granger, Potter, Lovegood, etc).

ETIQUETTE

1. Respect is the number one rule here. Respect everyone: members, guests, staff, all characters.
2. Keep drama IC. Just because Joe's character doesn't like yours, it doesn't mean Joe doesn't like you. We all love each other, we all share a passion for Harry Potter, and we all love this site.
3. This site is rated PG-13. Underage drugs and drinking will not be permitted. Only adults are allowed to drink alcoholic beverages. Smoking may be used in moderation, again only by adults. Drugs of any other kind are not permitted.
4. Because this site is rated PG-13, sex is not allowed. However, we understand that it happens in life. So if it is going to happen, fade to black. If close are going to come off, it's a good idea to use a black curtain in the thread.

ACTIVITY

1. In order to be considered active, you must post at least once a month. It does not matter if you log in, if you do not post, then you are not considered active.
2. If a member has not posted in one month, their claims are up for grabs. If that member returns and someone has taken their claim, they are out of luck.
3. We will have activity checks. If you miss one activity check, your account will be unsorted and your threads will be moved to the archives. If you miss a second activity check, your account will be deleted.
4. If you return after missing an activity check, visit the moderation threads in the Out Of Character category to learn how to get your account resorted and your threads moved out of the archives.
5. If you are going to be gone for more than a week, please post an absence thread in the Absences forum.

ROLE PLAY

1. We have a 300 word count here. You will not get in trouble if you are unable to make this occasionally, but if you consistently cannot meet this word count, a staff member will send you a message discussing a course of action.
2. Please keep plots realistic!
3. All posts will be written in 3rd person (She, he, Name, etc). 
4. Do not create Mary Sues or Gary Stus. Every character has flaws, every character gets hit with a curse every now and then. 
5. Godmoding is not allowed without permission, and even then do not go overboard.
6. One month OOC is equal to about 2 months in character. This means that one year in real life is two in character. After 6 OOC months, the staff will post a thread containing a short quiz that you must take with each character who you want to bump up a year. Adults can age automatically as you have the ability to change the age in the account settings. 

GRAPHICS AND TEMPLATES

1. Nudity and drug use in graphics is not permitted. 
2. Avatars must be 150px wide max, and no bigger than 200px tall. 
3. Some celebrities have asked that their images not be edited. Please check on this.
4. We will not permit the images of anyone under 11 to be shown on this site.
5. Images of minors using drugs are not permitted.
6. Maximum width for graphics and templates is 500px.
7. Be careful and considerate with your images and templates. Do not use impossibly small font or bright colors. If it is hard to read, you might not get very many replies.
8. Using the major actors from the Harry Potter movies is not allowed.

CBOX

1. All the site rules apply to the cbox.
2. Keep it clean: no cursing, no politics, no spam. 
3. Guests are welcome in the cbox as long as they are respectful.
